For those here that do not already know, the C-130 is a Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope manufactured for Celestron by Bosma (an optical company based in China.) There is a sister model of this scope made for Konus called the Motormax 130. There may be other brand names of the same telescope in circulation as well.

I have been toying around with a Celestron C-130 Maksutov Cassegrain Telescope and have come up with some modifications to improve it. Mostly I am junking the plastic flip-mirror back and building a quality back end. I have put together this website to share what I have learned about this scope, and post my progress. I am currently building the prototype of the aluminum back and I will soon have something to start testing. After I work out all the kinks, I am considering producing a limited number of aluminum backs and offering them first to those that pre-order; if there are any left after all the pre-orders are filled, then I will either offer up the rest on this website or sell them on ebay. This is not a business for me, and I doubt if I will turn any kind of profit on this venture. The satisfaction of passing on my answer
to the C-130 to those that might appreciate it is reward enough.

Now feel free to go poking around a bit to find out more.

Enjoy.
